Renaissance Kids Summer Camp has been a vibrant and enriching program since 2007, dedicated to instilling a love for architecture in young minds. With a passion for teaching young people through creative and hands-on projects, Professor Mark Moreno has designed this camp to not only introduce the fundamentals of architecture but also to highlight its profound impact on our daily lives.
Through Renaissance Kids, children aged 5 to 16 engage in activities that blend creativity, practical skills, and community involvement, building everything from playhouses and doghouses to innovative community sitting spaces. Our architecture camp nurtures curiosity, fosters teamwork, and promotes an understanding of how architecture shapes our environments and communities. By making learning interactive and fun, Renaissance Kids (SM) aims to inspire the architects and designers of tomorrow.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a team of dedicated college student assistants and Professor Moreno developed the innovative distance learning version called Renaissance Kids Household Edition. With this online format, kids from all over the world can experience the joy and creativity of our programs without geographical limitations, making it a true year-round "Architecture lab" near you - no matter where you are.
